About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform student evaluations
  • Provide and document therapy services
  • Develop and follow the plan of care for each student
  • Adhere to physician's orders

Requirements

  • Licensure in the state of assignment as an Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Mandatory meeting all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

  • Active SLP licensure in the state of assignment
  • Preferred CCC-SLP certification
  • Current CPR certification if applicable
  • TB test if applicable
  • Current health certificate
  • At least 18 years of age

Skills

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
