Responsibilities

  • Ensure all students receive high quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive services.
  • Demonstrate awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity in working with linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations.
  • Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of individual students.
  • Design and implement school-wide speech-language services using a continuum of service delivery models.
  • Address social, academic, and vocational needs impacting educational goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance language access in the curriculum.
  • Identify and implement appropriate instructional strategies, modifications, and accommodations.
  • Support students with the use of augmentative communication devices.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to IEP/IFSP documentation.
  • Prepare and complete evaluations, progress reports, transition reports, and data collection systems.
  • Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in professional development to increase knowledge and provide high-quality services.
  • Conduct hearing screenings, as needed.
  • Supervise SLP-Assistants and/or paraprofessionals (as per licensure guidelines).
  • Drive between locations as required.

Requirements

  • Requires Oregon Teaching License with Speech Impaired endorsement or State of Oregon Licensing Board’s Speech Pathology License.
  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Experience with children with a variety of disabilities and needs.
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license.
  • Proficient in the use of computer and internet-based applications, including email, internet software, Google Suites, and word processing (MS Word).

Benefits

NWRESD offers competitive compensation and benefits, including a licensed salary schedule and bargaining unit NWEA FTE 1.0.

Pay

Compensation is per negotiated contract, with a Licensed Salary Schedule.

Schedule

Anticipated locations for the 24/25 school year include Tillamook County, Columbia County, Rainier School District, Neah-Kah-Nie School District, and Tigard Tualatin School District - Middle School & High School.
