About the role

The OUTPATIENT Augmentative Communication Program (ACP) at Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Responsibilities

  • Conducting AAC related research and/or developing AAC related projects within the scope of this clinical position.
  • Comprehensive evaluation and management of pediatric communication disorders.
  • Providing parent/caregiver education and counseling regarding diagnoses and follow-up services and referrals.
  • Completing timely and thorough documentation related to patient caseload.
  • Working in collaboration and partnership with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other health care and educational professionals.
  • Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and education via continuing education pursuits.
  • Participating in Program meetings, committees, and projects.

Requirements

  • Education: A Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of directly related clinical experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to work as part of a tight-knit team; commitment to professional education; dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and educating future leaders in the profession.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA); current Massachusetts state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in evaluation and treatment of a broad range of individuals with complex communication needs.
  • Detailed knowledge of current assistive technology and no-tech to high tech solutions.

Pay

The posted pay range is $83,241.60 - $133,192.80 annually.
