Speech Language Pathologist - full time
Overview
St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their Specialty Care Center in South County. The ideal candidate should have experience treating pediatric patients with developmental needs, particularly in feeding and swallowing, and experience with infants is preferred. The position offers a 4/10 hour schedule and sign-on bonus eligibility.
Role Purpose
The Registered Speech Pathologist or Speech Therapist will provide skilled speech and swallow therapy services to patients, covering all aspects of evaluation and treatment. This includes establishing treatment plans, educating patients and families, collaborating with other healthcare providers, and delegating tasks to assistants, technicians, and students.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with speech and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and discharge goals.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care and support.
- Provide educational sessions and consultations to improve patient outcomes and address discharge needs.
- Delegated tasks to assistants, techs, and students, ensuring they are competent to perform the required interventions.
- Document all assessments, treatments, and consultations in accordance with departmental policies.
- Conduct regular reassessments and consultations within the Speech Services department.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
- No prior experience required.
- No supervisor experience required.
- Current license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
