About the role
The Speech Pathologist develops strategies and interventions to assist students in succeeding; measures and interprets the speech and language development of children; interprets results of speech assessments; interprets and applies state and federal codes; works in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students to provide diagnostic services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders; helps students to adjust and access the general education curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Develops strategies and interventions to assist students in succeeding
- Makes and interprets speech and language assessments
- Interprets assessment results and applies state and federal codes
- Collaborates with district supervisors, teachers, parents, and students to provide diagnostic services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders
- Aids students in adjusting and accessing the general education curriculum
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master's degree
- Tennessee K-12 license as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Attendance is an essential function of the job
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with speech, language, and hearing disorders
- Knowledge of state and federal codes related to speech and language therapy
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and students
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using speech assessment tools and software
