Speech Language Pathologist - East Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and evaluative services to students with speech and language disorders within the East Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative. This includes conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), and collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students' speech and language skills
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on assessment results
  • Provide direct therapy sessions to students to address identified speech and language needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for students
  • Participate in team meetings and IEP meetings to discuss student progress and needs
  • Keep abreast of new research and best practices in speech-language pathology

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • A current license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Kansas
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with speech and language disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to special education
  • Proficiency in using speech-language pathology software and tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
