About the role
The Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS) will be part of the Cochlear Implant Team at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital rehabilitation center. This position involves evaluating and treating Aural Rehab patients and traditional speech and language patients, as well as serving as the lead clinician for other AVT SLPs in the system.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements a plan of care appropriate to patient's condition.
- Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Supervises and mentors activities of peers, fellows, and other support personnel.
- Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
- Provides education and counseling regarding treatment plans and progress.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support resources.
Requirements
- Masters: Speech-Language Pathology
- BLS American Heart E-Card
- BLS AHA-RQI ECARD
- Certificate of Clinical Competence_Speech/Language (CCC-SLP)
- Speech-Language Pathology License (SA LICENSE)
