Pay

Salary Range: $91,900.00 - $103,900.00

Position Summary

Evaluates and identifies patients with voice, swallow, auditory, speech, and/or language delays/disorders and provides appropriate habilitation/rehabilitation.

Job Responsibilities

• Administers tests of auditory processing, functional listening, speech production, receptive and expressive vocabulary, receptive and expressive language, swallow function, and/or voice production/vocal resonance.
• Scores and interprets all evaluation measures.
• Documents the evaluation results including recommendations.
• Counsels parents and/or patients regarding their communication skills and the options available to improve those skills.
• Develops appropriate goals and objectives for each patient.
• Plans therapeutic intervention strategies to address these goals and objectives.
• Provides appropriate habilitation/rehabilitation services.
• Counsels parents and/or patients regarding their progress towards these goals and objectives.
• Documents patient's progress following each session.
• Refers patients to additional medical or educational services as needed.
• Coordinates services with outside professionals on a regular basis.
• Consults with other Care Team professionals as needed.
• Conducts or directs research and reports on findings to develop procedures or treatments relevant to the field of speech-language pathology.
• Advises educators or other medical staff on auditory-speech-language-voice-swallow topics.
• Participates in conferences or trainings to update or share knowledge of new therapy methods.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Master's Degree

Experience

Masters in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Entry level, following completion of Clinical Fellowship in Speech-Language Pathology. License eligibility.

Licenses and Certifications

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• NYS-license as Speech Language Pathologist
