Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy to improve articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and language comprehension.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.
- Maintain detailed records of patient evaluation, treatment, and progress.
- Educate clients and family members about communication strategies.
- Stay updated on clinical research and advances in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
- Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
- At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
