About the role

The staff Speech-Language Pathologist under the direction of the Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Leader is responsible for evaluating, establishing goals, planning treatment, performing treatment, assessing treatment effectiveness, and making discharge recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients with a wide range of communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Completes swallow function studies.
  • Promotes communication of patient care information among team members.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Current state licensure.
  • ASHA Certification or Clinical Fellowship/Vermont State Licensure, effective 2005.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association.

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

  • Proficient in evaluation and treatments of a wide range of communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payor requirements.
  • Training in voice evaluation and treatment (including pre and post op laryngectomies).
  • Training in Lee Silverman Voice therapy (preferred).
  • Training in Vital Stim therapy (preferred).
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.

Pay

$40.66 - $60.09 per hour
