About the role
The staff Speech-Language Pathologist under the direction of the Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Leader is responsible for evaluating, establishing goals, planning treatment, performing treatment, assessing treatment effectiveness, and making discharge recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients with a wide range of communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Completes swallow function studies.
- Promotes communication of patient care information among team members.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Current state licensure.
- ASHA Certification or Clinical Fellowship/Vermont State Licensure, effective 2005.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Proficient in evaluation and treatments of a wide range of communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payor requirements.
- Training in voice evaluation and treatment (including pre and post op laryngectomies).
- Training in Lee Silverman Voice therapy (preferred).
- Training in Vital Stim therapy (preferred).
- Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
Pay
$40.66 - $60.09 per hour
