Description Duties
- Diagnostics and evaluations of individuals with speech, voice, swallowing, language, and/or hearing disorders.
- Treatment of communication problems within state facilities.
- Independently teaches individuals how to develop and strengthen muscles used to swallow and/or speak, including sound production and voice improvement.
- Recommends appropriate consistencies and techniques for treatment.
- Maintains records of individuals' conditions, adhering to agency guidelines and requirements.
Qualifications
- Licenses and current registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State or certification in Speech-Language Pathology by ASHA.
