Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing disorders and communication/cognitive impairments, utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Establish treatment goals, develop, and implement appropriate Speech Pathology treatment programs based on a full clinical evaluation.
  • Provide rehabilitative services to patients under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team.
  • Participate in clinical conferences to share and coordinate the plan of care for patients.
  • Treat residents one-on-one in private, functional-based treatment sessions to ensure individualized attention.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology.
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills.
