Speech Language Pathologist

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our growing team of clinicians at Kids Unlimited Learning Academy (KULA), an early intervention day treatment clinic for children with special needs. KULA serves children from birth to Kindergarten, with expanded services during summer months for elementary school-aged children. Our clinic provides a multidisciplinary approach, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, developmental/psychological testing, nutritional evaluations, and audiological evaluations.

Children at KULA receive care based on their developmental needs and ages, with treatment rooms staffed by teachers, teachers' assistants, and licensed therapists. Our team collaborates closely with families to ensure each child's needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language pathology services to children with developmental disabilities or delays, including but not limited to speech-language delays, hearing disorders, feeding disorders, and cognitive delays.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, psychologists, and nutritionists.
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to children and their families.
• Participate in developmental screenings, therapy evaluations, and treatment planning.
• Handle multiple tasks in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Prepare routine reports and correspondence.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
• Current Arkansas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA) or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
• One year of successful experience in a similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people, including children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working with children between the ages of birth to 7 who are at risk or have developmental delays.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills, including knowledge of databases, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Problem-solving skills to address variables in standard situations.
