About the role
The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders at St Joseph Hospital & Medical Center. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough records review and administers appropriate standardized and non-standardized tools/methods, considering cultural and linguistic factors.
- Weighs prognostic factors to formulate prognosis, including developmental and acquired brain injury factors.
- States measurable short and long-term goals targeting functional outcomes and modifies the plan based on changing medical conditions, needs, progress, and risk factors.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and makes appropriate referrals to other services as needed.
- Selects intervention strategies based on evidence, incorporating age, culture, and linguistic factors, and revises treatment interventions accordingly.
- Applies learning, behavioral, and pragmatic tools and procedures.
Requirements
- Masters in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensed by the AZ State Board of Speech Language Pathologists.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate.
