About the role

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with disabilities, injuries, and diseases in both acute care and outpatient settings. This position involves planning, supervising, and carrying out speech therapy treatment programs, collaborating with the medical imaging department for modified barium swallows, participating in quality assurance, education, and customer service initiatives, and working collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
  • Collaborating with the medical imaging department to schedule and assist with modified barium swallows
  • Participating in and supporting departmental quality assurance, education, and customer service programs
  • Working as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team across various departments
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Currently licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire
  • Maintains up-to-date Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology

Qualifications

  • Experience in rehabilitation of adult populations preferred
