About the role
The Speech-Language Pathologist will be an integral member of the Birchtree team, supporting students with autism and other diverse abilities through personalized education and outreach programs.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and reevaluate students as needed to facilitate the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and individualized communication programs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (OTs, case managers, BCBAs) to promote success, set a just-right challenge, and develop individualized educational programs.
- Create, implement, and supervise the school's Communication Program, ensuring it maintains a standard of excellence in special education, especially in the context of ABA and IEPs.
- Consult with non-communication support personnel (Clinical Instructors) to achieve student outcomes, solve problems, and adhere to best practices.
- Provide continuing education and in-services for school personnel and parents.
- Complete documentation of service delivery, quarterly progress reports, and monthly billing logs.
- Use the electronic data collection and management system to collect and analyze data on mobile devices.
- Attend and participate in scheduled meetings such as IEP meetings, parent conferences, and management meetings.
Requirements
- A graduate degree from an accredited speech-language pathology professional program.
- Experience working with students with autism is preferred.
- Registered and/or eligible for certification by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
- A current license from the State of New Hampshire Office of Licensed Allied Health Professionals.
- Supervision available for CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) applicants.
- Physical capability to stand, stretch, bend, walk, run, and lift/transport a minimum of 60 lbs.
- Capable of moving and thinking quickly under stressful situations and functioning in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
A graduate degree from an accredited speech-language pathology professional program is required. Experience working with students with autism is preferred. Must be registered and/or eligible for certification by ASHA and hold a current license from the State of New Hampshire Office of Licensed Allied Health Professionals. Must be able to work effectively on a team, demonstrate computer literacy, multitask, and have excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
