Responsibilities

  • Carry out speech and language evaluations to identify students' communication, articulation, language, and related needs.
  • Determine eligibility for special education services based on evaluation results.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address speech, language, and communication challenges.
  • Create and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and external partners to develop strategies that promote student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of the school community.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies and state regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificate as a School Speech and Language Pathologist (PK-12) OR valid Delaware Speech/Language Pathologist license, or eligibility to obtain either.
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from a CAA-accredited program.
  • Prior experience working with urban youth preferred.
  • Proficiency in conducting speech and language assessments, developing intervention plans, and providing therapy services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
