Responsibilities
- Carry out speech and language evaluations to identify students' communication, articulation, language, and related needs.
- Determine eligibility for special education services based on evaluation results.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Create and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and external partners to develop strategies that promote student well-being and academic achievement.
- Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of the school community.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies and state regulations.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificate as a School Speech and Language Pathologist (PK-12) OR valid Delaware Speech/Language Pathologist license, or eligibility to obtain either.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from a CAA-accredited program.
- Prior experience working with urban youth preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting speech and language assessments, developing intervention plans, and providing therapy services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
