The Rapid City Area School District (RCAS) is seeking additional Speech/Language Pathologist for the 2026-27 School Year. This position will provide comprehensive speech/language therapy services to hearing, speech, and/or language impaired children according to the policies of the federal government, the state of South Dakota and our school district.

This position will provide comprehensive speech/language therapy services to hearing, speech, and/or language impaired children according to the policies of the federal government, the state of South Dakota and our school district.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to students in a variety of settings including classrooms, clinics, and home visits.
  • Evaluate students' speech and language skills and develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective communication strategies are implemented.
  • Keep accurate records of therapy sessions, progress, and evaluations.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • A valid South Dakota license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with students who have hearing, speech, and/or language impairments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of speech and language disorders and their treatment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in using speech and language assessment tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
