About the role

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for various health and human services. The Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities includes Caswell Developmental Center, which provides specialized services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect services related to residents' speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills/function.
  • Conduct evaluations and provide direct therapy.
  • Offer indirect services such as in-service training and consultation with staff/team.
  • Ensure necessary record-keeping and documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Fulfill ICF/IID standards requiring qualified personnel to provide the aforementioned services.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of a position as outlined in the vacancy announcement. Considerable knowledge of and skill in professional speech-language pathology is required. Familiarity with augmentative communication systems and experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred but not required. Knowledge of dysphagia and excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are also essential.

Qualifications

Applicants must be in good standing with the Health Care Personnel Registry and other licensing boards/agencies. The use of tobacco products is prohibited from campus. All employees must adhere to the facility's Vaccination Policy.

Benefits

The position offers competitive salaries ranging from $66,696 to $110,049, based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations. Pre-employment drug testing and criminal record background checks may apply. Employees are required to adhere to the facility's Vaccination Policy.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $66,696 to $110,049 annually.

Schedule

The work schedule is 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
