About the role
The Speech and Language Pathologist at Amherst Middle School supports students through specially designed instruction that aligns with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEP goals based on data and progress updates.
- Evaluate and screen students to assess their speech and language skills.
- Provide specialized instruction and support teachers in curriculum differentiation.
- Collaborate with staff and families to implement interventions and accommodations.
- Maintain therapeutic schedules and reinforce positive student behavior.
- Attend meetings such as IEPs, parent conferences, and faculty training sessions.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Communication or Speech-Language Pathology.
- State of NH Certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist and/or ASHA Certification.
Qualifications
- Experience with competency-based education and assessment.
- Experience with specialized populations including students requiring Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), neurodiverse students, and/or students with social-emotional needs.

- Develop IEPs rooted in skill development, data collection, and successful transition outcomes.

- Have expertise in the field of special education, diagnostic evaluation, and speech and language service delivery models.
