About the role
Speech and Language Pathologists at Holyoke Public Schools are crucial to ensuring all of our diverse learners have success in academics and life. They conduct diagnostic assessments and treatment for students within the school setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct therapy services to students in the classroom or clinic setting
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
- Assist with the development and implementation of district-wide initiatives related to speech and language
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current CPR certification
- Experience working with students in a school setting preferred
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology
