About the role

The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Portland State University seeks adjunct clinical faculty to support the graduate-level supervision of clinical practica and teaching graduate seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the training of future speech-language pathologists through hands-on clinical supervision in on-campus and community clinics.
  • Teach or assist with graduate seminars in areas of expertise.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to graduate students on clinical skills.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences/Communication Disorders or related fields.
  • Certification through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • At least three years of clinical experience.
  • Must reside in Oregon or SW Washington.

Qualifications

  • Previous clinical supervision experience preferred.
  • PhD in SPHR/CSD, AudD, or terminal degree in a closely related field, preferred.

Skills

  • Strong clinical background.
  • Ability to teach in an academic setting.
  • Experience with evidence-based practice and community engagement.

Benefits

The position is part-time and paid per credit hour (currently $1,445.00 per credit).

Pay

Adjunct faculty are paid per credit hour based on the PSUFA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Schedule

The position is part-time and scheduled according to course offerings.
