The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a full-time teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Sierra Oaks K-8. This position is open until filled and applications are accepted weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core academic subjects to students in grades K-8
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with district standards
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
  • Support students' social-emotional learning and behavior management

Requirements

  • Valid California teaching credential
  • At least two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in education or related field
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of current educational research and best practices

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. Candidates must be internal employees to be placed on Column 5; for external candidates, Column 4 is the maximum incoming placement.

Schedule

The length of the work year for teachers (elementary/secondary), middle school, and K-8 counselors/teacher librarians is 10 months/year, 186 days/year, 5 days/week, with a professional work day.
