SpED Paraeducator - Integrated Program (IP)

About the role

Kent School District offers a continuing contract position for a Paraeducator at Kentlake High / Home.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and implementation as directed by teachers.
• Supervise students during class time and breaks.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

Requirements

• Prior to starting, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington.
• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution.
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Willingness to take the ParaPro Assessment if not already met.
• Completion of state required training offered through the KSD Professional Development Team upon hire.

Schedule

Hours: 6.5 hours/day, Calendar: 190 Day KAP Calendar.

Pay

Hourly Salary: Min: $30.89, Max: $37.99
Salary Schedule: KAP Salary Schedule, Step placement based on verified years of experience in an educational unit.
