SPED MD Teacher

About the role

Desert Sunset School is searching for a teacher for the medical disabilities classroom for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with medical disabilities in a specialized classroom setting.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support student learning.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, therapists, and administrators to provide comprehensive support to students.
• Adhere to state and federal regulations regarding special education services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid California teaching credential or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience working with students with medical disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using technology to support instruction and student progress monitoring.

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, assessments, and student records.
