We encourage stepping beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to support your professional and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Sustaining and enhancing image formation technology for SPECT systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Designing and conducting nuclear image formation experiments, analyzing quantitative data, and translating findings into design improvements in collaboration with domain experts.
  • Working with both legacy and emerging technologies, deep-diving into existing architectures to maintain, adapt, and evolve solutions while contributing to future system innovations.
  • Integrating (Cadmium Zinc Telluride) CZT detector modules with front-end electronics, readout/DAQ systems, mechanical assemblies, and thermal structures to enable end-to-end system functionality.
  • Assembling, debugging, and testing prototype systems while troubleshooting complex issues across detector physics, electronics, calibration, and mechanical integration.
  • Supporting energy calibration, charge-sharing correction, and stability characterization through data analysis and close collaboration with calibration and image formation teams.
  • Applying both experimental and modeling/simulation-based methods (e.g., GEANT4) to troubleshoot, validate, and refine imaging technologies.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to internal teams (service, marketing, and product management) and partnering with luminary clinical sites worldwide to evaluate and validate new technologies in clinical environments.
  • Serving as the technical integration interface across physics, electronics, calibration, and image formation teams to maintain system-wide consistency and alignment.
  • Documenting procedures, test configurations, and lessons learned while contributing to design guidelines, standards, and best practices that support scalability and long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborating across a multidisciplinary, global team of physicists, system engineers, and clinical researchers to align innovations with clinical value and customer needs.
  • Leading and contributing to the resolution of complex, large-scale technical challenges—both independently and as part of a collaborative R&D environment.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics, Detector Physics and Imaging Instrumentation, or a closely related field.
  • 7+ years of experience post-graduation with a scientific publication record and presentations at professional meetings or an issued patent portfolio demonstrating the contributions to the field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills.
  • Strong experimental skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex, interdisciplinary system issues.
  • Strong capability in bench-level detector experimentation and system integration.
  • State-of-the-art knowledge of scintillation and semiconductor radiation detectors.
  • Familiarity with advanced image analysis techniques, AI-assisted image reconstruction, and quantitative imaging of biomarkers.
  • Familiarity with design, and use of instrument digital twins (iDT) and digital twins for planning, evaluation and optimization.
  • Able to work independently while providing critical technical support to senior engineers and leaders.
  • Experience with software development tools, scripting, version control, and collaborative computing environments.
  • Proficiency using MATLAB, Python, C/C++/C# on Windows and Linux/Unix platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Pragmatic, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
