Specimen Technician I

Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM

About the role

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting for specimen processors/lab assistants to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with strong organization skills and attention to detail, looking to start a career with a Fortune 500 company leading the world in diagnostic information services.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of test orders, presort, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
• Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens
• Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities
• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing
• Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve issues with specimen types (e.g., missing information)
• Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• No prior experience required; previous experience in a production or medical environment preferred
• Flexibility to work nightshift, with potential for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs

Pay

$17.20+ per hour. Employees may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for second shift and 15% for third shift. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors.

Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.
