Specimen Technician - 3rd Shift
Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Processing Technician I to support a medical facility in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 3-month assignment and a great opportunity to work with a top-tier healthcare organization.
About the role
We are seeking an entry-level Specimen Processing Technician I to join a busy clinical laboratory's specimen processing team. This position is ideal for candidates with strong data entry, computer, and keyboarding skills who can perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general specimen processing and laboratory support functions.
- Process specimens through areas such as A-station, presort, pickup/delivery, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
- Enter specimen and patient information accurately into computer systems.
- Identify and understand different specimen types and test requirements.
- Follow changing laboratory compliance and specimen-ordering requirements.
- Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Perform repetitive data-entry and computer-based tasks for most of the shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong basic computer skills
- Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
Pay
$17 - $20 per hour (based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials)
Schedule
3rd Shift: 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM (Training: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
