About the role
The Specimen Processor I will prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment. This role involves specimen accessioning, sorting, data entry, and resolving problem specimens according to established standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
- Meet department activity and production goals
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
- Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in a lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- 1 year or more of medical or production experience
Pay
$17.75 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday – Saturday as needed between 7:00 pm – 3:30 am

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
