About the role
The Specimen Processor I will prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and routing in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment. This role supports Labcorp’s mission to improve health and improve lives by maintaining the integrity of millions of healthcare tests each month.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
- Meet department activity and production goals
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
- Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
- Perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry according to standard operating procedures
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in a lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- 1 year of medical or production experience

Schedule
Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay
$17.75–$21 per hour (based on skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data)

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are eligible for the 401(k) Plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
