About the role
Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to join our team in Lawrenceville, NJ. This role involves assisting in the supervision of day-to-day operations, leading the team in daily processes, and ensuring efficient and accurate specimen processing.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM; ability to cover 1st and 3rd shifts and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the department.
- Lead the team in their daily processes and procedures.
- Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
- Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas.
- Encourage process improvements and best practices.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Resolve any production errors as requested by management.
- Research and resolve production errors, escalating when necessary.
- Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
- Enforce and manage policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- 3+ years of experience in lab, accessioning, data entry, or production.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
- Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree.
- 4+ years of experience working in a clinical laboratory.
- 1+ year of experience as a people leader.
Pay
$17.75 - $22.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
