About the role

The Specimen Processing Team Lead oversees daily operations of the accessioning department in a clinical laboratory setting, ensuring accurate and efficient specimen preparation and routing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage team workflows, specimen preparation, and routing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in quality assurance checks, resolve production errors, and promote process improvements.
• Enforce policies and procedures, support administrative duties, and collaborate with management.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and maintain effective communication.
• Oversee specimen accessioning, routing, and preparation processes.
• Perform quality assurance and resolve production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to policies.
• Perform administrative tasks and collaborate with management for operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience in clinical laboratory or hospital settings.
• Knowledge of AP or Histology specimen handling preferred.
• Leadership experience.
• Ability to handle biological specimens, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in protective gear.

Pay

Hourly pay range of $24.38 – $33.08 plus shift differential.
