About the role

The Specimen Processing Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Specimen Processing department, including Imaging/Microfilming, Test In Question, and Problem Resolution. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, and providing leadership and support to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the Specimen Processing department
  • Oversee safety, ergonomics, maintenance, and cleanliness of the department
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and improve department productivity
  • Manage employee training and performance
  • Resolve client service issues and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in project teams and initiatives
  • Adapt to changing business needs and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years in a Group Leader/related role
  • Preferred: 5 years experience in a laboratory, medical or production background
  • Previous people leadership experience preferred
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Knowledge of systems tools such as COGNOS, Oracle, EMPower, Kronos

Skills

  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a production environment
  • Proficient in PC skills and MS Office applications
  • Highly alert and energetic for a fast-paced, biohazard environment
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers
  • Experience with systems tools such as COGNOS, Oracle, EMPower, Kronos
