Specimen Processing Manager

About the role

Oversee Specimen Processing, Imaging, Cytology Processing and Tech Ops, may also oversee some or all of the following: Referral Testing, Test In Question, and Histology Processing.

Responsibilities

• Train all personnel
• Manage all daily operations of related departments
• Ensure compliance with all policies
• Achieve low error rates and meet productivity standards
• Maintain a safe, ergonomically sound, professional work environment
• Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues
• Communicate effectively with clients, technical staff, and employees
• Make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment
• Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Lead projects within the workgroup and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Give presentations and speak in front of groups

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years laboratory experience, with at least 4 years of direct supervisory experience in clinical or anatomical pathology laboratories
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Proven leadership, interpersonal, and technical skills
• Strong organizational and planning abilities
