Pay
The starting pay range for this position per hour is $26.25 – $28.25. The full pay range per hour is $26.25 – $44.65. Pay is based on several factors that vary by position, including labor markets and, in some instances, education, work experience, and certifications.

As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, you’ll lead a team of specialized consultants in Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Core Beauty, and Electronics, delivering strong operations, guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising that inspires guests and builds the basket.
Responsibilities
- Deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience
- Train and coach team members on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations
- Observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments
- Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align the team on the right behaviors and execution
- Model, train, and coach team member expectations to deliver on Target’s guest service model culture
- Value diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences
- Plan daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including planning merchandising sets, making changes and updates to planograms, sales plans, events, and promotions
- Develop, coach, and lead a team of knowledgeable and passionate consultants
- Assign daily tasks based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with weekly and monthly business priorities
- Encourage the team to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to welcome, inspire, and influence guests with personalized recommendations
- Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met and areas are full and maintained
- Create inspiring visual moments by ensuring product is organized, signed correctly, and merchandised to support seasonal trends
- Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor to ensure product availability
- Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes
- Prioritize the guest experience by ensuring fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe where applicable
- Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable
- Model and reinforce ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold the team accountable to the same standards
- Lead a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, and assisting with incident response
- Model and execute physical security processes to enhance in-store security culture
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including ordering, storage, and application as directed
- Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier where applicable
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership-on-duty responsibilities to enable the guest experience during assigned shifts based on store needs
- Address store emergency and compliance needs
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup, and Drive-up while maintaining a compliance culture
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age or older
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
We also expect you to be able to:
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders as needed
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance
- Maintain a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) and reliable, prompt attendance
- Work in and tolerate varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing job duties, including Drive-up and carryout as needed
- Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
Although the role is full-time, it does not come with a guarantee of 40 hours each week; hours will depend on the needs of the business and may fluctuate as required.
