Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $20.25 - $22.25 per hour. The full pay range is $20.25 - $34.45 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role

As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, you will help all families discover the joy of everyday life by delivering a strong operations, incredible guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising presentations. You will lead teams in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Core Beauty, and Electronics, prioritizing guest experience while ensuring product availability and ease of shopping.

This role provides the opportunity to build and develop skills for a career, focusing on guest service, retail business fundamentals, workload planning, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly shopping experience.
  • Train and hold team members accountable for guest experience and operational consistency.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities and drive results.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest service, inclusivity, and equitable experiences.
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals, including merchandising sets, promotions, and events.
  • Lead and develop a team of consultants who are knowledgeable and passionate about their departments.
  • Assign daily tasks based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Encourage team members to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to provide personalized guest recommendations.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
  • Support execution of changes and updates to merchandise sets and visual presentations.
  • Ensure product organization, correct signage, and seasonal merchandising trends.
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, and replenishment of the sales floor to ensure product availability.
  • Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain clean, welcoming, and safe fitting rooms (if applicable).
  • Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable.
  • Demonstrate and lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Model and recognize safe behaviors, identify and correct hazards, and report/investigate injuries.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
  • Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed to enable the guest experience.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU).
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including adult beverage regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Experience communicating via multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong workload management and task prioritization skills.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Access to all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information.
  • Capability to handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders as needed.
  • Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and reliable, prompt attendance.
  • Capability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
