Specialty Sales Representative - Dermatology - Ann Arbor, MI
Takeda’s Specialty sales force drives demand for assigned products by reinforcing the product brand and Takeda value. The role focuses on presenting Takeda’s products and optimizing business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts.
Responsibilities
- Support account on-boarding, including education and procedures.
- Engage in clinical selling activities, delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers across a brand belief continuum.
- Provide initial clinical educational support and in-service for medical staff.
- Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities and programs for healthcare professionals (HCPs), such as peer-to-peer discussions.
- Conduct account management activities within practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Attain sales goals and objectives by delivering product volume and other key metrics in the assigned territory.
- Utilize discretion and judgment to execute franchise and company brand strategy within the assigned customer segment, including physicians, specialists, support staff, and pharmacists.
- Establish professional working relationships with HCPs, decision-makers, and influencers to support product use through clinical and business expertise.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved marketing materials.
- Execute marketing strategies at the local level, collaborating with team members to enhance business results.
- Build customer engagement by identifying and cultivating relationships with key decision-makers.
- Develop and implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs to expand HCP knowledge.
- Stay updated on disease states, treatments, and the evolving business environment.
- Maintain accurate records of appointments, sales calls, follow-ups, samples, and key account contacts.
- Develop trust-based relationships with customers to enhance Takeda’s competitive advantage.
- Communicate ideas and data effectively, both verbally and in writing, including public speaking and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of sales experience.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech sales experience preferred.
- Experience calling on Dermatology and/or Immunology accounts is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills working within teams.
- Reside within or close proximity to the assigned geography.
Training
This position requires successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations. During training, the employee will be classified as non-exempt and eligible for overtime, but not for sales incentive programs. Training includes live instruction, independent study, and role-play, totaling up to 40 hours per week. Upon successful completion, the employee transitions to exempt status, becomes eligible for bi-weekly pay, and can participate in Takeda’s sales incentive programs.
Pay
For the location USA - MI - Detroit, the estimated hourly wage range is $56.35 - $77.48. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Schedule
