Specialty Rx Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care for members taking specialty medications between providers, internal teams, and specialty overlay vendors (stakeholders).
  • Communicate directly with stakeholders to provide status updates and request additional information as needed.
  • Develop helpful documentation to assist in the training and education for stakeholders involved in specialty rx.
  • Clearly document and notate specialty rx inquiries, cases, and escalated issues.
  • Lead implementation calls with specialty rx partners to support new client pharmacy setups.
  • Resolve any assigned HelpDesk tickets or Client Change Requests related to specialty rx.
  • Appropriately escalate difficult issues up the chain of command.
  • Provide recurring education and training for internal teams about specialty rx topics.
  • Train new employees and cross-departmentally as assigned; explain and demonstrate duties and proper procedures.
  • Serve on committees, work groups, and/or process improvement teams to assist in improving quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with others cross-departmentally to improve or streamline procedures.
  • Develop new or improve current internal processes to enhance quality.
  • Recognize and alert appropriate supervisor of trends within scope of responsibility that fall outside of quality parameters.
  • Perform self-quality monitoring to develop and execute plans to meet established goals.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to help optimize quality performance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or direct patient care setting
