As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative in the Cardiovascular field, you’ll connect medical professionals to Amgen’s innovative medicines, helping navigate payer complexities while keeping patient impact at the forefront.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary customer contact, implementing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products under the direction of the District Manager.
- Provide current, comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their benefits to drive appropriate product utilization.
- Act as a sales leader to achieve territory targets by delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education, and exceeding goals through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with accounts by tailoring interactions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and managing contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales effectiveness and territory performance, and partner with leadership to develop territory plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
- Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products and keep patient impact central throughout the sales cycle.

Requirements
Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree or
- Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience or
- High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience
Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical or scientific healthcare experience not in sales or
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical or scientific healthcare experience not in sales or
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical or scientific healthcare experience not in sales
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of sales experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices.
- Product or hospital sales experience in cardiology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, oncology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
- Local market knowledge and established relationships in the territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
- Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631 to $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
