As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative in Arlington, VA, you’ll connect medical professionals to Amgen’s innovative medicines, helping patients live longer, fuller lives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current, comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their benefits to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Act as a sales leader to achieve territory targets by delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational events, and exceeding goals through in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop and manage customer relationships by tailoring interactions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products and keep patient impact at the forefront throughout the sales cycle.

We expect of you

Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience

Senior Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical/healthcare experience
  • OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical/healthcare experience
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical/healthcare experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases
  • Local market knowledge
  • Established relationships in the territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
  • Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; Cultivating Internal and External Relationships

The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631 to $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
