Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
- Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with accounts by customizing discussions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow.
- Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle, building the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Requirements
Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree
- OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience
- OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience
Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (non-sales)
- OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (non-sales)
- OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (non-sales)
Qualifications
- Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases
- Local market knowledge
- Established relationships in the territory
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration preferred
- Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships
Pay
The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631 to $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
