Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative - Cardiovascular - Roanoke, VA
About the role
The territory for this role covers Roanoke, VA, Lynchburg, Abingdon, Martinsville, Danville, and Bluefield. Relocation is not offered for this role. As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative, you will be the connection to our customers by providing clinical knowledge of our products to medical professionals and helping them navigate the complex payer environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization of the products
- Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagement
- Develop relationships to service and manage accounts which may include: customizing discussions and customer interactions based on understanding of customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager
- Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and seek to learn and grow as a Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative
- Demonstrate passion for our products and sustain that passion through the entire sales cycle while always building our brand and never losing sight of how we serve patients

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for a Specialty Representative include a Bachelor's Degree, or an Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience. For a Senior Specialty Representative, basic qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience, or an Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 1-3 years of sales, marketing, or clinical experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with experience in areas such as oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases
- A hunter's mindset, with strong communication, storytelling, and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence diverse audiences
- Genuine passion for sales, relationship-building, and improving patient outcomes, with curiosity and learning agility, and resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with a desire to build a long-term career in pharmaceutical sales, and demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all interactions

Pay
The annual base salary range for the Specialty Representative opportunity in the U.S. is $89,880 - $121,602, and for the Senior Specialty Representative opportunity, the annual base salary range is $109,631 - $148,325.
