About the Role

This field-based role focuses on executing brand strategy, driving sales performance, and managing assigned territories and accounts. The successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, solve customer needs, and maximize short and long-term sales performance while adhering to AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws. The geography covers Iowa, Omaha, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance.
  • Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to close sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
  • Continuously gather and share market intelligence to align with brand strategy and anticipate changes.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; equivalent industry experience required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED required if no bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt selling approach to customer behavior and maximize business opportunities.
  • Influential and respected among peers, with strong collaborative and leadership skills.
  • Documented success in leadership roles with increased responsibility.
  • Preferred: Success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas and commercial pharmaceutical experience.
  • English language proficiency (verbal and written) required for non-English speaking countries.
  • Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements, including background checks, drug screens, immunizations, and licenses.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and safe driving requirements.

Key Stakeholders

External: Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan.

Internal: In-field team members, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.
