About the role

HPC-Industrial, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking a Specialty Mechanical Supervisor to join their safety-conscious team. This role involves managing daily operations of the service line crew, ensuring proper equipment operation, driving efficiency, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs, provides feedback, and directs the crew in performing job duties to meet client requirements and company policies.
  • Enforces company policies and removes employees from work when necessary.
  • Schedules jobs and crews as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Acts as Operations Manager or Branch Manager when required.
  • Reads work orders and ensures all required equipment is available and operational before starting a job.
  • Inspects equipment and work areas before starting jobs and corrects any issues that could lead to accidents or damage.
  • Communicates job status and client requirements to clients as needed.
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Completes paperwork, including service receipts, and submits them to designated management.
  • Trains Technicians and Operators on equipment operation, service line processes, and necessary paperwork.
  • Operates various equipment in the service line (chemical, hydro-blasting, painting, blasting, and vacuum) according to training and safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Able to wear protective clothing and equipment, including Nomex coveralls, back belts, slicker suits, rubber boots, fresh air breathing masks, escape packs, and hard hats.
  • Able to work in extreme conditions, including high temperatures, high humidity, and cold weather.
  • Able to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the industrial cleaning industry.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Specific vocational preparation, including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and essential experience gained on other jobs.
  • Language proficiency: ability to understand English to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
  • Valid driver license and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicles or using personal vehicles on company business.
  • OSHA certification may be required for this job.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
  • Strong knowledge in the operations of equipment used in leak sealing, machining, bolting, isolations.
  • May need to provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).

Pay

The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this role. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and business needs. In addition to the base salary, some roles may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule

Hours and schedule will be determined based on the needs of the customer and the company.
