Specialty Doctor Orthophysician

Based at Ulster Hospital, Belfast Area (SEHSCT), within the Medical & Dental Directorate, Orthopaedics Functional Area. Permanent contract.

About the role

This new post is based in the Fracture Trauma service in the South Eastern Trust, initially at Ulster Hospital with possible duties at other Trust hospitals. The Orthophysician will assist with the medical management of pre‑ and post‑operative patients within the fracture service, serving an elderly population at risk of fragility fractures with significant medical comorbidities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the medical management of pre‑ and post‑operative patients within the fracture service.
• Manage inpatients.
• Provide outpatient facilities for the delivery of secondary preventative measures to patients with fragility fractures not requiring operative treatment.
