About the Role

All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Specialty Assistant Store Manager, this means leading a team of associates to ensure exceptional service in a clean, safe, and well-stocked store while achieving sales and margin goals, driving operational efficiencies, and maximizing customer satisfaction.

The Specialty Assistant Store Manager is accountable for anticipating customer flow and work demand, redirecting efforts and schedules to ensure proper coverage, planning for sales spikes, and ensuring in-stock positions to meet demand. You will conduct safety walks, monitor store power equipment usage, and coach associates on safe work practices.

This role collaborates with the store leadership team, District Manager, and Area support staff to assess customer needs and develop methods for achieving service, sales, and operational objectives. Role-specific assignments and priorities may be tailored to specialty areas such as cabinets or appliances, and you may rotate through Merchandising and Operations for cross-training and development.

Travel is minimal but may occasionally be required for meetings, trainings, or supporting neighboring stores.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and margin goals while driving operational efficiencies and maximizing customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the store leadership team, District Manager, and Area support staff to assess customer needs and develop strategies for service, sales, and operational success.
• Perform manager-on-duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes.
• Rotate through Merchandising and Operations assignments for cross-training and development.
• Occasionally travel to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
• 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
• 1 year of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes.
• 1 year of experience directly managing sales associates (commissioned or non-commissioned) in retail, business-to-business, outside sales, or consumer service industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5 years of experience directly managing a team of sales associates (commissioned or non-commissioned) in retail, business-to-business, outside sales, or consumer service industry.
• 3 years of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes.
• Experience working in the home improvement retail sector.
• Broad knowledge of interior/exterior product categories (e.g., flooring, cabinets, millwork, building materials, appliances, home décor, lighting, plumbing).
• Experience working with store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, M2O, Thin Client).

Schedule

Generally scheduled for 48 hours per week; more hours may be required based on business needs. Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.

Pay

Pay range: $62,000.00 - $104,000.00 annually. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
