Specials Assembler

1st shift: Mon-Fri 5:30AM-2:00PM
Pay
Starting at $21.00 per hour
About the role
Assemblers will work on special assigned production lines, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for specific job assignments. This role focuses on special orders requiring heightened attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Verify materials being used are correct by reading the bill of materials
- Ensure materials meet quality expectations
- Label units as needed
- Assemble fabricated parts into relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units, requiring higher-level skill for complex door assembly
- Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
- Verify components are placed in the correct position per SOP
- Repeat tasks until assigned other duties
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; clean up work area at the end of each shift
- Follow all operational and safety SOPs as written
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of all door components
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Read and understand bill of materials
- Ability to lift up to 75+ lbs
- Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, and Square
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
- Ability to work in various weather and temperature conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold
- Regular attendance and timeliness are essential to avoid disruptions in production and customer service
Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiency
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)
- 1-2 years of experience in the field or related area
- Understanding of quality door construction standards and proper assembly techniques
- Prior door manufacturing or woodworking experience needed
