Workday Technical Consultant Part-Time Contract | Approximately 24 Hours/Week | Remote, U.S. We are UMG, the Universal Music Group. We are the world’s leading music company. We are seeking an experienced Workday Technical Consultant to provide part-time project and functional support within a global HR technology environment. This consultant will serve as a trusted Workday subject matter expert, partnering with HR and Talent Acquisition stakeholders to understand business needs, evaluate Workday capabilities, recommend effective solutions, and manage functional configuration. How we LEAD: The primary focus of the engagement will be project-based Workday initiatives, particularly within Recruiting and Learning, while also providing limited ticket and production support as needed. The ideal consultant will bring deep expertise in Workday Recruiting and Learning along with broad knowledge of the overall Workday HCM platform, including Business Processes, Security, Position Management, and related functionality. This is expected to be an approximately 24-hour-per-week engagement. The consultant will work remotely within the U.S. and must have flexibility to participate in regularly scheduled global project meetings. West Coast candidates are preferred, although qualified consultants located anywhere in the U.S. will be considered. How you’ll CREATE: · Serve as a senior Workday advisor to HR, Talent Acquisition, and other business stakeholders, translating business requirements into practical and scalable Workday solutions. · Provide expertise across the Workday platform, with particular emphasis on Workday Recruiting and Workday Learning. · Partner with global stakeholders to evaluate business needs and recommend effective Workday solutions and best practices. · Support ongoing Workday enhancements and optimization initiatives across Recruiting, Learning, Hiring, Onboarding, Security, Position Management, and Core HCM. · Evaluate stakeholder requests and recommend the best available Workday functionality or configuration approach rather than simply executing requested changes. · Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and optimize existing Workday processes. · Contribute to Workday governance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement efforts. · Provide limited Workday ticket and production support as needed while maintaining primary focus on project-related initiatives. · Partner effectively with global HR, Talent Acquisition, HR Technology, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Bring your VIBE: · Demonstrated experience supporting and configuring Workday HCM in a live enterprise environment, including enhancements, optimization, and production support. · Strong functional expertise in Workday Recruiting and Learning, with experience supporting configuration, business processes, enhancements, and/or implementations. · Broad knowledge of the Workday platform, including Core HCM, Position Management, Hiring/Onboarding, and Security. · Hands-on experience with Workday Business Process configuration, including evaluating existing processes and recommending scalable improvements. · Experience partnering directly with HR, Talent Acquisition, HR Technology, and other business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective Workday solutions. · Demonstrated ability to serve as a Workday subject matter expert and advisor, recommending best practices and appropriate platform capabilities rather than solely executing predefined configuration requests. · Experience supporting Workday projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and deployment. · Strong understanding of Workday Security concepts, including roles, security groups, domains, and Business Process security. · Experience working within a global Workday environment and collaborating with stakeholders across regions and time zones. · Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a flexible part-time consulting engagement.
