Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for several financial areas (contract and expense management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, commitment credits, internal control system)
  • Oversee the budget forecasting process, financial planning, monthly forecasts, and annual accounts
  • Evaluate and clarify specific financial questions
  • Act as a substitute for the Chief Financial Officer of the General Secretariat of the DDPS (GS-VBS)
  • Advise and support managers and employees on financial matters
  • Participate in projects and expert groups

Requirements

  • Commercial vocational training (CFC) or higher professional education in business administration
  • Professional experience in finance, ideally within a public administration
  • Strong knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in project participation
  • Independence, initiative, leadership, and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Good active knowledge of two official languages (B2, A2)

About the role

Help manage the finances of the General Secretariat of the DDPS and provide financial information to managers, in collaboration with the Finance Service Center (AFF).

About the organization

The General Secretariat of the DDPS is the staff unit of the department. It assists the head of the department as a member of the Federal Council and in managing the department. The GS DDPS develops political strategy and directives for administrative units, supports and monitors their implementation, and ensures planning, control, and coordination at the departmental level in cross-cutting areas such as personnel, finance, law, IT, security policy, spatial planning, and the environment.

The work is preferably distributed over four working days (50-70% part-time).
