About the role
The Workforce Development Specialist I is an entry level position on a team responsible for workforce recruitment, training, and development. This is an individual contributor position with a passion for education and development of people.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate new hire onboarding along with data gathering and reporting
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams in determining training needs and improvements in all aspects of work (safety, quality, technical, problem solving, and leadership)
- Develop, deliver, and maintain training solutions that follow a consistent format, are of a high quality professional form, and accompanied with the appropriate supplements (e.g. reference guides, video, verification tools)
- Print training materials and ensure all training documentation on the production floor is up-to-date and in the proper location
- Develop own skills on training tools and methods (e.g. instructional design, OJT methods, video production, MS forms, on-line or virtual forms, SCORM, and validation methods)
- Absorb and assist trainers, crew training advocates, and supervisors to ensure they have the training material needed
- Aid in training status reporting and with subject matter experts on verification of training completeness and effectiveness
Requirements
- Entry level position with demonstrated behavioral and technical skills that can contribute to: Developing Training Material (multi-media forms), Working in teams and facilitating groups through training, Assisting in data gathering and reporting, Actively working toward a college Degree in a Technical Discipline, HR organizational development, or educational degree in a STEM field is preferred.
